Brandão is passionate about technology and sports and practice many of them. He is an athlete, competing nowadays jiu-jitsu and water polo in the master category. He was a high-performance athlete for almost two decades - swimming, water polo, and judo (reaching some national titles). He has a deep knowledge and large network on the sports ecosystem.
He is an entrepreneur with 18 years of professional experience in the financial and private equity industry and 14 years as a professor, teaching Entrepreneurship, Private Equity & Venture Capital, and Business Negotiations in the most recognized business schools in LatAm, Fundação Getulio Vargas - FGV and INSPER.
He was the COO of GVcepe – Private Equity and Venture Capital Research Center at FGV-EAESP and Director of Desafio Brasil, that was the most traditional and largest startup competition in LatAm. He was Curator & Director of Technology Committee at DEMO Conference Brazil.
He supports several entrepreneurship programs and technology startup competitions worldwide as board member, mentor, and judge such as ENDEAVOR; StartupChile; TigerLaunch at Princeton University; NYU - NewYork University Venture Program; Parallel 18 - Puerto Rico Federal Government Startup Program; Intel Global Challenge at UC Berkeley; Duke Startup Challenge; Startup Weekend; Anjos do Brasil; Startup One FIAP; Wayra Week Telefonica; e-emerging Red Innova Spain; Acelera FIESP.
He was a senior executive at CVC/Opportunity Equity Partners and Odebrecht Investment in Infrastructure, performing Portfolio Management, Turnarounds, M&A Transactions, Project Finance Operations, Sales, Business Development, Customer Development and managed several international projects in 3 continets (North America, South America, and Africa).
He attended specialization courses at Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and Duke University. He also holds a Master’s degree in Administration and Business Management from FGV-EBAPE and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from UERJ.
He is the author of the book Business Negotiations, published by Editora Saraiva and FGV, 2010.
His sports goal is to compete for the next world jiu-jitsu championship and pursue his black belt.
